1969 Plymouth Road Runner Hemi, Hemi Orange

1969 Plymouth Hemi Road Runner, 8 cylinder engine with a manual 5 speed transmission. 82k original, less than 400 miles on restoration. This car was the Hot Rod Magazine cover car in August 2009.

All aluminum Indy 528" Hemi crate motor: Bottom end: Indy Maxx aluminum block, fully machined, cross bolted on all 5 main caps, 4.5" bore. Steel 4.15" stroker crank, forged 10.75:1 pistons, H-beam rods, true roller timing set, deep sump 10qt. custom made oil pan, external oiling system w/ static pickup. Melling oil pump supplied by Precision oil pumps (blueprinted), SFI-approved balancer. Top end: Indy 426-1K Legend head kit comprised of: 426-1AS heads, Felpro gaskets, roller rocker assemblies w/ heavy shafts, .100" wall chromemoly push rods, Indy aluminum valley plate, Indy 4bbl hi-rise intake manifold, head studs, Indy aluminum valve covers. Cam: Comp Cams mechanical flat tappet cam and solid lifters--254/262 duration @ .050" .576/.579" lift, 108 degree centerline, aluminum water pump, MSD electronic distributor with 6AL box, MSD plug wires. 750+HP on pump gas. Fuel system is Aerofuel pump and regulator -8 main feed lines. -4 return at pump -6 reg to carb.

Custom short-throw internal shifter mechanism designed to provide better-than-stock shifting. Custom-machined transmission case and tail housing allow the transmission to fit floor tunnel with minimal modification. Relocated existing shift hole to the right is required based on modern "on center" shifter design. Gear Ratios: 2.87 1st, 1.89 2nd, 1.28 3rd, 1.0 4th, .64 5th; 2.56 reverse. Low RPM Cruising - 36% drop in engine RPM in 5th gear. Heavy duty Spicer slip yoke.

Rear End
New Moser 60 Made in the U.S.A. Housing, with OEM located mounting provisions, seamless steel tubing (3" O.D., 1/4" wall), custom alloy axles (35 spline), bearings, studs, seals, heavy duty retainer plates, new housing ends, t-bolt kit, differential, pinion yoke, ring & pinion, rear cover, set up with Timken bearings, 4:10 Pro Street gears, Detroit True Track Posi, 1350 pinion yoke. Mopar Performance super stock springs.

Front end
Firm Feel .960 torsion bars, adjustable lower control arm struts, poly urethane bushings, Firm feel tubular upper control arms, All new TRW front suspension parts IE: tie rod ends, pinion and idler arms, ball joints, with poly urethane boots. 7/8 front sway bar. Mega parts Hemi K-member and motor mount brackets with Schumacher interlocking motor mounts.

4 wheel manual disc from ECI. All steel lines, hoses and master cylinder are new.

Upholstery is from Legendary, Dash pads are restored by Just Dashes, instrument panel restored by Redline, and switches were purchased new or restored by G-car. All door handles and window cranks were purchased new. All glass is new from ECS. Steering wheel is stock restored.

General Items
All bumpers are original re-crhome. All stainless is original restored and polished except drip rails which are new re-manufactured pieces. All exterior light lenses and side reflectors are new. Radiator is from Mattson’s special build per my specs and dimensions (triple flow with dual spal’s) 175/185 sender, Runs cool. All wires harnesses are new except for dash harness which is original restored.

Headers are TTI, Pipes are 3” TTI with Flow master 2 chamber 40 series with X-pipe cross over.

DuPont 2 stage Hemi Orange with a value stage base coat.

Front wheels are 18x8 with 245x45 555 Nittos and Rear wheels are 18x10 with 305x45 Nitto drag radials.
