1969 Dodge Charger, Hemi Orange/Saddle Tan, 138,865 Miles

Up for sale is one Awesome GENERAL LEE 1969 DODGE CHARGER - This is one awesome vehicle. It has been a dream having but, with obligations in life, it must go...Car is always garaged, never driven in rain or even washed with water. Dusted and detailed/buffed is the extent..

This car is a true head turner. If attention is what you want, you WILL not be disappointed with this. The General is one of the most iconic television car actors in history. It has been a blast owning him.

The Charger has a 383/4 barrel engine with a 727 floor console automatic. The car has been restored to replicate the cars they used in the Georgia era on the Dukes of Hazzard. Georgia being the first few episodes. The car is Hemi Orange with fully new and restored saddle tan interior. Only thing not changed in interior is the rug as it was able to be saved. Car is certainly driver quality. Not a total show car but, very close...... with this car everyday is a car show. Total attention getter.

The facts, the good and bad:

The GOOD: Painted one year ago, not perfect but looks great, New graphic decals from BuildaGenerallee.com, New bumpers front and rear, all stainless shines superbly, old Vintage original 14X7 Vector 10 spoke rims as used in the TV series in absolute mint condition mounted on vintage tires. Tire size replicates car show at a f-70 R 14. Car has a new interior with correct 69 charger head rest seats as in the shows first few episodes. Re -capped Dash pad with no cracks, The Roll bar is bolted to the floor and can be removed if needed. It too is correct saddle tan color as it was in the first 3-4 episodes of the show. Floors are solid, Trunk looks great with new mat, Headliner has one small tiny hole by the dome light that is not noticeable as the roll bar hides it. Has console with wood grain and rally pack dashboard. Original factory Air car (just not hooked up nor do I have the components). All Glass works and is in great condition, Headlights do move up and down on their own (driver's side needs a little help going up at times) Turn key car, Has stainless steel glass pack dual exhausts and sounds exactly as the General Lee did. Sound alone turns heads... Has the smaller early season push bar up front, and full 12 note Dixie horn set up to an auxiliary button. Power steering, disc brakes, Have not done any work up front as the car seems pretty solid for it's age. Have new lower windshield trim needs to be put on. All stainless has either been refurbished or replaced. Wheel well moldings were replaced, bumpers, rear window trim, as well as other odds and ends. All brake lights, reverse lights, directionals, wipers function perfectly. Overall for it's age, it is one of the most complete and functional chargers you will find out there. Solid sub frame rails, floor and front torsion mounts. Clean example overall.

The NOT SO GOOD: - non numbers matching car.... bought it that way. But what General Lee ever was??? The car had a new engine installed on December of 2006 showing only 67K on it. I have pictures to prove the swap was made. Great thing is the car originally came with a 383 from the factory but, now has a 383HP motor installed in it with only 67K. Car will need a new interior dimmer as the switch is located on the dash and does not work. Once replaced, you will have interior dash lights at night. Interior light does work however when opening door, just can't use the dimmer to bring lights on dash, Windshield wash bucket motor needs to be replaced as this is the original does not pump the washer fluid. Horn is not hooked up to steering wheel. Only horn now is the Dixie auxiliary horn. Radio also not hooked up. CB radio shown in picture does not go with the car when sold. Antenna will go with the car though. Car does tend to run hot in summer weather for some reason. Does have new radiator and water pump. Stops fine now but will benefit with brake shoes. Body was painted and looks great for driver. Some small defects in paint can be color sanded and buffed down particularly on trunk panel. I have been told by local body shop that it can be color sanded down significantly and buffed out to be perfect for the perfectionist. Driver door handle sticks from outside. Button needs new spring. Can be opened by reaching in to open from inside. Did not want to change as these are the original handles with black buttons. Re-manufactured buttons are chrome. Wanted to retain original. Missing hood directional indicators. Never put in as cars on the original series never had them installed.
